Qwantese Dourese Winters is a Doula, Writer, and Agriculturist who uses her skill sets to preserve, discover, and explore culture, and help build community. She was inspired after learning of her connection to the Gullah Geechee nation to began a journey of building a relationship with the land. She taught herself foraging, gardening, and herbalism along the way and now uses her knowledge to inspire other Black, and POC folks to start their own relationship with nature. After joining Troy Farm’s farmer apprenticeship she moved onto co-hosting PBS Wisconsin show Lets Grow Stuff, a show all about how to grow food, plants, and tending to the land. She is known lovingly as The Food Doula, because of her passion to impart foodways into the process of pregnancy, birth, and especially postpartum healing. Qwantese seeks to encourage, inspire, educate, and empower the community with her service, art, and food in unique ways.
