My approach as a Doula

My goal is to bring transformation forth through love and integrity. I do this with Oasis Maternal Care. My business where I serve as a doula - nourishing with food, spirit, and care.

I want to be there for the moms who are marginalized, who don’t get the care that they deserve because of their race or because they’re battling with addiction, poverty, mental health issues, or are imprisoned. Everyone deserves to have a beautiful birth regardless of who you are, or where you are in life. Even though my work started with these mothers in mind I serve women from all walks of life, and am eager walk alongside everyone on the journey towards an empowered birth.

In my doula practice, food plays an integral part in how I care for my mamas. Its how I bring my culture, and my heart to mothers and their families. While also providing nutrients that help on the journey of pregnancy and postpartum healing.

I’m not a stranger to the healing power of food. A big pot of greens made with love has nursed me back to health multiple times with its flavorful stew of fresh vegetables, and smoked meat alongside some warm, sweet cornbread. This intimate story of food as medicine is ingrained into my service as a doula. Those served by me won’t only feel the touch of my physical support, but will find themselves enveloped in the comfort of special meals curated with their healing, and changing bodies in minds. This looks like home cooked meals for the family, or well thought out meal plans to take away the guess work of what to eat after baby arrives.
